Unusual and collectible Austin A40 Countryman passenger van.
This fine example was imported to UK from New Zealand in 2015, where it had spent its first 60 years. Upon importing to UK, it was subject to a full body restoration which included sand blasting and full respray to both interior and exterior panels. Finished in Austin mist green, it is complimented by the full interior fit out in red. She had new headlining, door cards, seats, carpets and all wood finishings restored. She was purchased by an Irish collector in 2018 whereupon she received a full mechanical restoration which included new carburetor, petrol pump,radiator recored, head gasket and head skim,as well as brake shoes,brake pipes, points, plugs, new window washer, and all gaskets and seals replaced. the original UK registration was 102-UYO, VIN:GP598577,and to the best of our knowledge, it can be returned to UK registration with ease. This is a very unusual vehicle, and brings a smile wherever it goes. You will enjoy driving it,as everything is working as it should, and although its not designed to compete with a Ferrari, it pops along nicely. All lights, switches, gauges are in tact, and it is ready to drive away. You will certainly not see many of them on your travels. This was the SUV of its era, and the seating position is very comfortable for a car of its age. This would be a welcome adition to any collection, but would also make a wonderful promotional vehicle to the right business.
