Vehicle Description

Mr Darcy's are offering for sale, this rare and sought after Jaguar Mk1.
The Jaguar 2. 4 was the first post-war small Jaguar and in many ways still the most significant.
Powered by a small bore XK engine, it was the first Jag to use a modern monocoque construction and started a range that became the mainstay of the company, selling in large numbers and attracting a younger clientele.
Originally known just as the 2. 4 and 3. 4, this range later became referred to as the MK1 in 1960 after the MK2 was launched. Although most enthusiasts regard the MK2 as the Jaguar to have, the MK1 was a revelation in its day. They’re very similar to the MK2 – indeed there’s more purity to the design and style. And let’s face it, they’re different and a lot rarer than the MK2.
MK1s are pretty hard to find due to their rarity and are still valued less than a MK2, but the gap is closing as an increasing number of cat lovers are seeing the MK1 in a new light.
This example was fully restored in the early 90s, and was completed to an extremely high level of detail. Everything on this car is working as it should, and the interior is a work of art, which one would expect to see from Jaguar in the 50s. She is supplied with an extensive history file, and a host of old MOTs and receipts. She is beginning to show some rust bubbles to the rear spats, which would be expected at this stage. Its hard to describe in detail as to her condition, so we have posted in excess of 50 photographs on our site www.mrdarcysclassics.com. Viewing is strictly by appointment, and we can deliver if required. If you are looking to stand out from the crowd at a car show, then look no further. We accept trade ins as always, and feel free to email or call us for more details as required. This car was originally a UK car, and can be returned to UK number with ease.
